From 2007–2011, Elizabeth competed on the women's varsity cross country and track and field teams at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. As a cross country athlete, Elizabeth was a two-time Midwest All-Region runner and a member of the 2009 All-Big Ten Team. She was also a scoring runner for the 2008 and 2009 Illinois teams that finished 10th and 12th, respectively, at the NCAA Championships. On the track, Elizabeth broke the 29-year old school record in the 10,000m in 2011. She also held top 10 all-time performances in the 3,000m, 5,000m, and 10,000m at Illinois, scoring in each of those events at Big Ten Championships.
In 2011, Elizabeth competed for the Hansons Brooks Distance Project before stepping back from running competitively due to injury. Currently, she runs with the Bandit Racing Team.
COACHING EXPERIENCE
From 2012–2014, Elizabeth was the volunteer assistant coach for the women's varsity cross country and track and field teams at the University of Illinois, coaching first under Jeremy Rasmussen and Tonja Buford-Bailey and later under Scott Jones and Ron Garner. During her time at Illinois, Elizabeth helped coach the track and field team to a 2013 Indoor Big Ten Championship title and, later that season, to a second place finish at the Outdoor Big Ten Championships. She also helped coach individual distance athletes to All-Big Ten, All-Region, and NCAA Championship qualifying finishes in cross country and to NCAA West Preliminary Round qualifying finishes in the outdoor season in the 1,500m, 5,000m, 10,000m, and 3,000m steeplechase.
In 2015, Elizabeth volunteered as the assistant coach for the women's varsity cross country team at the University of Michigan, coaching under Mike McGuire and James Henry. During her time at Michigan, Elizabeth helped coach the cross country team to a Great Lakes Regional title, a second place finish at the Big Ten Championships, and a sixth place finish at the NCAA Championships. She also helped coach individual athletes to All-Big Ten, All-Region, and All-American finishes.
